Colorado’s Top Five Ski Resorts

If you are looking for one of the best states to have fun in the snow Colorado is the place to
be. The state itself has some of the most famous trails known in the ski business. Locations
such as Beaver Creek, Aspen, Vail and Steamboat Springs are just some of the top locations
that can be found in Colorado.

Each person has his or her own individual perspective on what factors make a resort
excellent. One of the main factors that make a resort worth visiting is an active night life,
ample amounts of snow, five star restaurants, celebrities and access to lodging. All these
aspects come together to make a resort what it is. Below are several of the most famous
resorts.

Winter Park Resort

Located just 67 miles from Denver, it offers some of the best skiing in the state. May persons
will tell you that Winter Park is simply the best location in Colorado. Snow falls an average
of 350 inches yearly and there is an abundance of sun through out the ski season, but watch
out for storms. The Mary Jane Side of Winter Park offers one of the best bumps in North
America.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort

Located in southern Colorado it’s one of the prime spots to experience some of the best
winter storms in Colorado. This location is also somewhat warmer than the other resorts. The
average daily winter temperature measures 30F. The mountain range is 50% expert and 50%
intermediate. The hill is a great way to test your ability to ski. The surrounding town is not
completely developed however you will find what you need when you visit the area.

Steamboat Ski Resort

Located to the northwest portion of Colorado, the mountain range consists of six peaks. There
are a total of 165 trails that are spread over 2,965 miles. To access the peaks you can ride any
of the 20 lifts. Four of them are high speed and 8 are passenger gondola. It rises 3, 668 feet. If
the snow is falling this is an excellent place to be. The town has many working cattle ranches
and a feeling of the old west which makes it an excellent destination.

Telluride Ski Resort

This location has the highest number of peaks is the USA. There are a total of 14,000 peaks,
the area has been coined a skiers paradise. Telluride is a small town which is far from the
modern world; this gives skiers the feeling of freedom. When it snows during the late season
you may end up walking in snow that is measured in feet.

Copper Mountain Resort

The Oly is located on the I-70 corridor. The mountain is well worth taking a shot at as
it offers excellent ski opportunities. If you are a beginner or an expert you will love this
mountain location. The terrain is located to the far east and it is simply breath taking. When
you look at the location from the valley below the view is just sublime.
